University Canada West (UCW) is a private, for-profit university in British Columbia, Canada. It was founded in 2005 by David F. Strong, the former president of the University of Victoria. UCW was purchased in 2008 by the Eminata Group and in 2014 sold to Global University Systems, its present owners. Based in downtown Vancouver, the university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in business and management. Based in Downtown Vancouver, the university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in business and management. The establishment of the university marked the first time in British Columbia that a for-profit institution had been authorized to use the designation "university," the result of the province's recently enacted, controversial Degree Authorization Act. UCW was approved in 2004 and opened its doors in 2005 in the former Blanshard Elementary School in Victoria, British Columbia. It initially offered undergraduate degrees in commerce, communications, geography, tourism, and economics and a master's degree in business. However, the geography, tourism, and economics programs were later dropped. The University OF East London is a public university which is located in the London Borough of Newham, London. The university is having three campuses in Stratford and Docklands, as well as Stratford, is opening the University Square Stratford in September 2013. It gained university status in 1992. Before that, it is known as the College of East London. In February 2013, it had more than 17,000 students from 135 countries.

Campuses:-

                            UEL has 3 campuses in Stratford and Docklands, the newest of which is University Square Stratford, which opened in September 2013. The Barking campus closed in 2006. UEL delivers programs and short courses at the barking learning center in a nearby borough. Also, off-campus students register programs with UK or non-UK academic partners, such as the Women Institute of Management in Malaysia.

STRATFORD CAMPUS:-

                                                 The Stratford Campus is close to the 2012 Olympic Park. It is centered around the university house, in a 19th-century listed building. The campus is home to the School of Education and Communities, the School of Health Sport and Bioscience, and the School of Psychology. The Centre for Clinical Education was opened in January 2008. Operating in partnership with the National Health Service, the center is London's only provider of podiatric education.

In 2011, UEL appointed Make Architects to lead the design of a replacement library at the Stratford Campus. The project had a budget of £13 million and the library opened in June 2013.

DOCKLAND CAMPUS:-

                                                  The campus was shortlisted for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Building of the Year in 2001. New student accommodation was opened in 2008 and now the campus has 1,200 student rooms, with shops, restaurants and cafes, launderettes, and an open-air fitness suite. UNIVERSITY SQUARE STRATFORD:-

                                                                         A third campus the University of Stratford was opened in the 2013-14 academic year. Co-owned by Birkbeck, University of London it is situated in Stratford and delivers part-time and full-time study for adults. It was the first time that 2 higher education institutions created a new shared building. It provides a shared teaching space for both higher education institutions and their partners. It is home to the Royal Dock School of business law as well as UEL's institution of performing arts. STUDENT'S UNION:-

                         The University of East London Student's Union is the university-wide representative body for the students at the university. The postgraduate includes:

·         Master of Arts/ Master of Science:-  An MA or MSc Master's degree shows you have gained a higher level of expertise in a specific subject. They generally take one year to complete full-time or two years part-time.

·         MBA (Master of Business Administration):- The MBA award is for professionals who are looking to boost their managerial credentials.

·         LLM (Master of Law):- An LLM specializes in a particular field of law. 

·         MRes (Master of Research):- The MRes trains you for research in a specific academic field and can be good preparation for a Ph.D. 

·         PGDip (Postgraduate Diploma):- A PGDip is similar to a Master's degree, but is shorter and will typically leave out a major aspect of the full Master's program - usually the dissertation project.

·         PGCert (Postgraduate Certificate):- A PGCert can form the basis of a PGDip or Master's degree by introducing you to a subject at an advanced level or providing you with a specialist skill.

Research

In the seven years to 2012, UEL produced around 70 pieces of research work, including the Westfield Transport Observation, Newham Impact Evaluation, and LOCOG Impact Evaluation.

                            The career zone mentoring team offers a wide range of experiences to suit students' personal and professional development needs. This has a more experienced or knowledgeable person help to guide a less experienced or knowledgeable person.
