IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. This exam is intended for non-English speaking students. This blog is everything that a student needs to know about. Academic IELTS:-

General Training:-

Computer-Based Exam:-

                                         Test takers sit their Listening, Reading, and Writing tests on a computer at an official IELTS test center. The questions are shown on screen and answers are submitted using a keyboard and a mouse. The Speaking test is carried out face-to-face with a trained IELTS Examiner.

Structure of IELTS:-

The IELTS test consists of four parts:-

  Writing:-

With 2 different sections, these tests consist of 60 minutes. The student has to solve task 1 with a time limit of 20 minutes and task two with a time limit of 40 minutes. This test contains different types of bar graphs, diagrams, procedures, line graphs, pie charts, and different situations containing your own opinions and views on the given topic.

• Listening:-

 This test has 3 sections which student has to solve in 60 minutes and also student get 10 minutes extra to copy the answer in the answer sheet. In this test, students have to listen and answer properly which is related to the topic. Well, the student has to be careful in this as they cannot pause or reverse the audio.

•  Reading:-

This test also has 4 sections in which the student has to solve all the sections in 60 minutes and 10 minutes extra is given to copy the answers in the answer sheet. With different readings, there are different question types such as Letters of heading, true or false, and MCQs. 

• Speaking:-

                                    

This test has 3 sections which contain an introduction, Q cards, and follow-ups. In the introduction, the student is been asked about him/herself with some questions related to hobbies and locations they leave in. In Q-card the student is given a topic in which the student has to speak for 2 minutes continuously. In follow-ups, the question is asked on the basis of the Q card topics.

                                             

Every student has to score a minimum of 6.0 bands and a maximum of 8.5 bands or 9.0 bands to continue their further studies abroad. After the test is over the student is provided 10 minutes to copy their answers to the answer sheet and on the computer students will get 2 minutes to check their answers for each section. After the IELTS Exam, the bands are released after 15 days by which students can know about their overall bands to continue their further admission procedure.
