Since its establishment in 1899, the university has grown to the fifth-largest university in the state of Texas and the 28th-largest university in the United States. Texas State University reached a record enrollment of 38,808 students in the 2016 fall semester, continuing a trend of enrollment growth over several years. The university has a legacy of preparing students to make an impact. The President of the U.S. Lydon B. Johnson graduated from the College of Texas. Texas State is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity and an Emerging Research University (ERU) by the State of Texas. It spent over $140 million in research expenditures during fiscal year 2023. Texas State's main campus consists of 245 buildings on 507 acres of hilly land along the San Marcos River. Additionally, it has a 101-acre satellite campus at its Round Rock Campus (RRC) in the greater north Austin area. The university operates the 70-acre Science, Technology, and Advanced Research (STAR) Park, a technology commercialization and applied research facility. Texas State has 4,522 acres additional acres of recreational, instructional, farm, and ranch land. The Forensic Anthropology Center at Texas State is the largest forensics research facility in the world.

The university has 91% job placements for MBA Graduates. Top 17^th part-time MBA among Hispanic Serving Institutions in the USA by US News and World Report. From Badminton, Cardio Machines, Dance Studios, Basketball Courts, Changing Room, Equipment Checkout, Boxing, Cycle Studio, Foosball Table, Hallway Lockers, Indoor Swimming, Multifunctional Training, Indoor Rock Climbing, Indoor Track, Parking, Indoor Soccer, Meditation Space, Personal Training Studio, Pickleball, Shake smart, Volley Ball, Pro Shop, Table Tennis, Weight Room, Racquetball, Vending Machine. With membership and with minimum charges students can get changing rooms, as well as personal lockers to secure their personal stuff. With this, the athletic students are offered protein shakes, and organic acai bowls made of fresh vegetables and fruits.

Alkek Library:-

Albert B. Alkek Library is the most important information resource of the Texas State University community. The mission of the library is to help our patrons succeed by providing high-quality library services and information in a variety of formats to support the university’s teaching and research programs. From history to the latest updates the university has a variety of books which will be very much helpful and friendly for the students to study and to learn about the particular subject. The library has comfortable seating and spacious rooms where students can study with fresh minds.

Round Rock Campus Library:-

The Round Rock Campus Library supports the research and information needs of faculty and students on the growing Round Rock campus. It offers all the resources and services of a large academic library in its comfortable setting in the Avery Building, Suite 255. Professional librarians are on site to help guide research and assist with the circulation of materials. A recent expansion includes the only dedicated quiet study space in the Avery Building.
